Firetite
Limited-combustibility, Class A2 fire-rated mineral-clay insulation for new and refurbished cavity walls.
Firetite combines a hydrophobic, open-pore mineral insulation (~90% inorganic minerals, ~10% organic components) with the fast, safe, seamless airtight process of a self-sealing foam system. Suitable for high-rise buildings above 18 m.
Fire classifications explained
Building products are graded for reaction to fire under BS EN 13501‑1 on a scale from A1 (non-combustible) to F. The grade describes the bare material on its own, not the finished wall or roof.
- Polyurethane foams and polyurea coatings are Euroclass E or F as raw materials. That is why they are specified and certified as a system — the material plus how and where it is installed, for example injected into a sealed masonry cavity or enclosed behind a fire-rated lining. - Mineral and clay-based insulation such as Firetite reaches A2 (limited combustibility) and is the right choice where regulations demand it, including buildings with a storey over 18 m.
- Roof membranes are additionally rated for external fire exposure as Broof(t1) to Broof(t4) under BS EN 13501‑5.
